The Azure

Seven Seals

The exact origin of magic will probably never be known, as is a complete understanding of its power. Our earliest records tell of an age when nations prospered and civilisation had reached a plateau, however this was not to last. In time tensions between neighbouring lands began to manifest and old alliances became fragile. Ultimately a war broke out which was to consume the entire world.

Whole empires began to fall and yet the conflict continued. Eventaully the time came where the largest superpowers would meet. The resulting battle saw the abuse of the most deadly magic, which was to have dire consequeneces. Rifts began to appear where the land was being torn apart, what lay on the otherside proved worse than man could have imagined. News of these events spread and the war was suspended, attention turned to closing these rifts and stopping whatever had managed to come through.

Finally after decades of strife the last rift was sealed, the world left forever changed. These seals would not last forever though as every 30 years the magic that binds them begins to weaken. The teachings of the seals has been passed down from generation to generation in one of the few villages left that still practices magic. Over time some rifts have closed permanently, however 7 still remain. It is once again time for the power contained within them to be sealed.
